The skier in the painting began the trek to reach the mountain peak without the assurance of success. Embarking on our life journeys and finding success along the way transforms us from feeling tentative and uncertain, to experiencing the feelings of empowerment and awe.

There’s nothing quite like the thrill of a backcountry adventure—the vastness of the slopes stretching out before you, untouched and waiting. As the sun breaks through the misty clouds, these three skiers experience a moment that few people get to experience. The mountain feels endless, the light ethereal, and the silence is broken only by the sound of skis slicing through the powder. This scene is about embracing the adventure, feeling small in the vastness, and letting the magic prevail.

Up Up and Away
24" x 36"
Oil on Canvas (framed)
$1395
That morning on the chairlift it felt like we were heading into the abyss. The fog was thick, and the world was grey as we loaded the chair. What were we doing, and why did we leave the comfort of our warm home to be here? As we climbed higher, the clouds started to break apart and suddenly, there it was—a majestic vista of snow-covered peaks glowing in the sun! The tiny pops of color from the people on the chairlift are a reminder of how small we are in the grandness of nature.

Hayfever

There’s a special kind of magic in the early morning before a ski race. The air is crisp, the trees heavy with snow, and the valley below still cloaked in shadow as the first golden light begins to creep in. The snow is untouched except for a lone set of tracks, marking the path of the first person to head down. It’s quiet, calm, and impossibly beautiful—a moment that feels like it’s just for us, the race crew. Soon, this slope will be buzzing with athletes, coaches, and all the energy of competition. But for now, it’s ours, a peaceful gem before the chaos takes over.
